Okay, I apologize for the Dr. Dre lyric, but seriously...

I'm going to be looking at next-gen consoles in the spring (PS4 and Xbone), and will be forced to make the ever-difficult decision. I've always been a PS guy (and thus, a Gran Turismo guy), but the lack of GT6 on PS4 is pissing me off. Also, I can't help but be in sheer awe of what Forza Motorsport is putting out in their 5th installment. Is it time for me to make the switch?

I have to (well I hope to) make the same decision. game wise playstation is better, and cheaper. but xbox is a better multimedia platform, which is good because I'm going to college next year.

Meh. Just get one or the other. Don't like it? Sell it off while prices are high, or when GT7 comes out. Or keep it if it turns out to be good.

Get the xbone if you want to pay for access to online gaming or basically any of the cool functionality of it. Or you can wait a little longer and see what games come out for either system and then make a decision.

I don't regret my xbone purchase. I'm very glad I get to play FM5 rather then NFS on the PS4. That said, it's early in the console cycle and both of these consoles aren't running at full capacity yet. If you are looking for performance, the upcoming xbone patch will unlock 8% of the gpu that was originally dedicated to the kinect bar... meaning there really is a negligible gap in performance between the two.

There are two under rated features that I should inform you of. First, is smart phone integration is brilliant. Instant feedback gives you a full keyboard from your smart phone with pc like response times.

The second is the music pass. For $10 a month, I get to stream anything I want, plus I can download any playlist I create to my android phone so I can listen to my music even without an internet connection. The playlist is cloud based so I don't have to recreate my list for every device I run it off of. That means I listen to it on the computer at work, off of my phone in the car, or even as background music at home.

Owner of a 360 and a ps3 here: I'd go for the xbox one. GT6 has left me with a lot to be desired, although I'm not that far into it. Fiveza seems like such a better game based on the gameplay I'm seeing, it also looks much more fun.

I'm not sure, I don't have a PS4. I don't think I'll be getting either of these newfangled consoles. I don't use my PS3 enough as it is. I just use it to stream and it acted as the blue ray player. I got it at the time when it made sense to spend the extra hundred on the console to play blue rays instead of just getting a standalone player. I haven't been following if playstation gold or plus or what ever they call it is mandatory for the 4.

I have very, very little experience with any of the XBOXes, so I can't really compare the XBONE to the PS4.

However, I have owned every PS console, every GT console game, and got my PS4 on day 1. If you have any PS4 questions, shoot.

Welp, I'm done with consoles. . . I don't play often enough to make it worth my while and I don't like the aspect of having to pay to get beyond a wall that is preventing me from using another service to stream from which is yet again beyond another pay wall.

I'm not sure what exactly you're referring to there. Streaming services like Netflix, Crackle, Sony's own video & music services, and free-to-play games like DCUO and Blacklight are all accessible for free to any PS4 owner, with or without a PlayStation Plus membership. The only online access that is restricted to PS+ members is online multiplayer for non-free games.

I'm not a big fan of having online multiplayer behind a pay wall, but in my case since I was already a PS+ member it hasn't cost me anything extra that I wasn't already paying.

I would wait for now since Driveclub and Project Cars will be out soon and forza 5 turned out to be a disappointment. Personally I would go with a PC since there are plenty of mods for games like rfactor and with a decent wheel you can sink plenty of hours into it.
